Smiley Sturgis
Smiley SturgisLead Pastor - Wildwood Campus
Smiley is amazed that Jesus loves him today than the day Jesus moved in long ago. He married way out of his league; he and Karen have been married for over 34 years. They’ve been blessed with 6 wonderful children and an increasing family.
Smiley planted Good News in 1991 after planting and pastoring West Boca Presbyterian for 11 years. Good News has been an opportunity for him to “come home” to a ministry for the people of St. Augustine where he graduated from high school and college. “I get to look at Jesus every day and tell others about Him. I can’t believe I get to do this!”

Don Guernon
Don GuernonExecutive Pastor
Don Guernon joined the staff at Good News in April of 2012, after spending over thirty years in the restaurant industry where he held several leadership positions.

He and his wife Tara have put their trust in Jesus for their eternal salvation and they became members of Good News in 2005. Tara and Don have two children, Hope and Eli and they enjoy the lifestyle St Augustine offers as a family.

His capacity in organizational leadership is complimented with a passion for reaching people for Christ and seeing their lives transformed by the power of the gospel.

Andy Hirko
Andy HirkoCampus Pastor - World Golf Village
Andy finds his identity in the saving grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. He is married to his hilarious and beautiful best friend, Kristy since 2002. They have one daughter, Lilyana, and two sons, Luke and Levi.

Andy finds the most joy in seeing the Holy Spirit reach and transform people.

He is a die-hard Red Sox, Patriots and Celtics fan and he could eat Mexican food for every meal. He enjoys hacking the golf ball around.

Dave Aucremann
Dave AucremannAssociate Pastor
Dave has been on staff with Good News since 2006. He’s been married to Sue Ellen since 1996 and they have 2 kids. Dave’s role is to lead small group ministry and he longs to see an increasing network of gospel-centered small groups where people connect to Jesus and one-another for transformation. What Dave loves most about serving in his role in the church is seeing people who have never experienced biblical community step into small group and say, “I can’t imagine my life without this community!” Dave believes that walking with Christ means living daily in the knowledge that he is a great sinner and Jesus Christ is a great Savior. Dave enjoys running and golf.

Ed Taylor
Ed TaylorWorship Director
Ed Taylor has been on staff with Good News Church at the Wildwood Campus since 2002. He has served as the Children’s Director for eight years and then served as the Worship Director since 2010. He is incredibly gifted in music.

Ed is married to Dottie and they have two grown children, Sarah and Brian.

Ed enjoys leading a great team of musicians that range in age from twelve to sixty six. He has said that he finds training up future music and worship leaders very rewarding.

Outside of ministry, Ed enjoys photography, fitness and spending time with his family.

Strider Stokes
Strider StokesStudent Pastor
Strider was born and raised in NC and calls Pinehurst his hometown. Strider met Christ through Young Life as a senior in high school at camp Windy Gap. Strider was a volunteer Young Life leader for 3 years and started on staff at Young Life during his senior year of college before becoming the Area Director for Ponte Vedra in 2006, and then Area Director for St. Augustine in 2010.

Strider met his wife, Shannon, during their junior year and married after graduating in 2004. They have 3 boys (Asher, Mac, and Kenan) and have been members of Good News at the Wildwood campus since 2010. Strider enjoys playing basketball, watching sports on TV, and reading.

Dylan Cousart
Dylan Cousart Youth Director
Dylan has been the Student Ministry Director at WGV since 2013. He felt the call to youth ministry as a senior year in high school; he was hired two months after graduating from college. He believes firmly in the church’s priority of reaching and transforming the next generation with the joy and freedom that comes from the gospel because they are the future. What he loves about serving in his role is being able to look back and see how God has worked in the lives of students and leaders. Walking with Christ means new mercies every day as God continues the good work He started in us until it is finished on the day Christ returns. His hobbies are surfing, playing guitar, singing, and video games.

Yannie Gray
Yannie GrayStudent Ministry Assistant
Yannie Gray has been on staff with Good News at WW since 2014. Yannie has been married to Zach since 2013. Yannie’s role is to lead in student ministry at Good News.

She loves watching middle school students connect to Jesus and others in Biblical community. Her leadership with college students also brings her great joy.

What Yannie loves most about serving in her role in the church is seeing people come to understand Jesus’ love for the first time. Yannie believes that walking with Christ means sharing life with people, loving others, and sharing her infectious joy.

Yannie enjoys playing volleyball, relaxing at the beach, reading, and enjoying a nice hot cup of coffee.

Mitch Heinz
Mitch Heinz Small Group Director
Mitch has been on staff with Good News WGV since May 2015. Mitch married Jenn in 1998 and they have four children: Cameron, Michael, Kaylan and Ava. Mitch leads the small groups ministry at the WGV campus where he connects people to small group raising new leaders up so that Good News has room to continually welcome more people into biblical community. What Mitch loves about serving in his role in the church is meeting people and hearing how God is working in their lives. What does walking with Christ mean to Mitch and his family? It means living in joy, peace and freedom that comes with being obedient to God, and using opportunities that He gives them in the places that He has placed them. His favorite hobby is doing donuts in the church parking lot when no one is around.

Travis Stevens
Travis Stevens Global Outreach Director
Travis Stevens became the Global Outreach Director for Good News Church in 2017.

Travis had developed a heart for the nations at a young age through missions trips as a teen. He has traveled extensively and served on a missionary team after college.

Travis holds Bachelor’s degrees in Biblical Studies and Youth Ministry from Bryan College and earned an M.A. in Biblical Studies from Reformed Theological Seminary.

He has been married to Canaan for 15 years and they have 5 children: Riley, Luke, Galilee Hope, Georgia Vaill and Geneva Joy. They have been members at Good News for over 10 years.

Travis enjoys sports, tasty food and fresh Mach 3 razors.

Toni Willis
Toni WillisChildren's Director
Toni Willis has been on staff with Good News, WW since 2015. Toni has been married to Ricky since 2003 and they have two children, Kevin and Kalyn.

Toni is the Children’s Director at Good News Church. What Toni loves most about serving in her role in the church is seeing children come to know and love Jesus. She is passionate about giving others the joy of participating in passing on our faith to the next generation. She believes that partnering with families is the key to raising 3M Christians.

Toni believes that walking with Christ means being captured by His love and experiencing the joy that comes from abiding in Him.

Toni loves spending time with her family and enjoying the outdoors.

Ella Fullerton
Ella FullertonWorship Director
Ella has been on staff at WGV since March 2013. She’s been married to Chase since 2011; they have two fur-babies and three chickens. Ella loves using the gifts that God has given her to joyfully and passionately worship Him with all her heart since the 2nd grade. Ella loves all elements of musical worship, but she also greatly enjoys working with our hospitality teams to help create a welcoming and loving environment for both guests and members on a Sunday morning. Chase & Ella (aka Chella) are both deeply in love with Jesus, and believe that he conquered death to save them from their many sins. They love spending time in His word each morning listening to what He has to say, and every January since they were married, they anticipate a time of closeness with God through a 21-day Daniel Fast. Chella’s favorite hobby is learning to be green and self-sufficient; they have a long way to go, but the journey so far has been an exciting adventure!

Tavanya Greco
Tavanya GrecoMinistry Coordinator
Tavanya Greco has been on staff with Good News since 2003. Tavanya has been married to Tim since 2012. Tavanya’s is the ministry coordinator at Good News Church.

Tavanya loves using her organizational and administrative gifts to allow the ministries of Good News at both campuses succeed.

What Tavanya loves most about serving in her role in the church is seeing people come together to accomplish great things with God.

Tavanya believes that walking with Christ means following His example of humility, love, and community.

Tavanya enjoys family, especially her husband Tim and their beautiful daughters, and recent twins. God has gifted her musically with an amazing signing voice.

Leisa Kent
Leisa KentChildren's Ministry Director
Leisa Kent has been with Good News WGV since 2016. She’s been married to Harry since 1974; they have four children and four grandchildren. Leisa leads gospel leaders and shepherds to impact children’s lives for Christ. She loves building relationships with children and families and has a passion for both to grow closer to Christ and one another. “From childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Jesus Christ” (2 Tim.3-15). They believe that walking with Christ means prioritizing one’s relationship with Him, and that having faith in Christ isn’t about things turning out okay, but being okay no matter how things turn out. Visiting family, eating at local restaurants, and walking on the beach are their favorites.

Brooke Wilson
Brooke WilsonOffice Administrative Assistant
Brooke serves at the Wildwood campus. She grew up just outside Akron, Ohio (home of LeBron James) in the farm town of Suffield. She and her husband Adam moved to St. Augustine in February 2001.

They have three daughters Bailey, 11 Brooklynn, 8 and Camryn, 6. Brooke is very involved in the community as a Girl Scout leader and S.A.F.E. pet rescue volunteer.

Brooke and Adam came to Good News in 2009 and joined in 2010, they are members of the “Super Small” small group.

Steve Rodenbaugh
Steve RodenbaughFacilities Manager
Steve Rodenbaugh has been on staff with Good News since December 2011. Steve and Christine were married July 4, 1988 and they have a son Michael, 25.

Steve is facilities manager and maintains both Wildwood and World Golf campuses. What Steve loves most about serving in his role in the church is connecting with God’s family and seeking to glorify Him.

The path is narrow and we need each other to keep our eyes on Him. He is with us to gird up our marriage.

Steve and Christine also enjoy leading a small group each Wednesday.

Steve enjoys playing golf with the guys and fishing with his wife.
