PRIMARY FUNCTION: To provide leadership for the organizational and operational effectiveness of Good News.
Don joined the staff at Good News in April of 2012, after spending 30 years in the restaurant industry holding several leadership positions. He and his wife Tara became members in 2005 and have been very active in different ministries in the church. In addition to his staff role Don is also a member of the Good News Elder Board, and a Small Group Coach. His capacity in organizational leadership is complimented with a passion for reaching people for Christ and seeing their lives transformed by the power of the gospel. Don has four children ranging in ages 30-5: James, Chris, Hope and Eli, and one grandson: Jack.

Tavanya is a graduate of Flagler college and has been working at Good News for 12 years. She is married to Tim Greco and they have 2 girls, Paisley and Peyton. Tavanya worked in the youth ministry for 10 years and then in 2013 shifted her job function to provide administrative support to the staff and work as a liaison between the ministries and campuses of Good News church.

Steve is the “go to” guy for all facility and maintenance issues at Good News Church. He and his wife, Christine, joined Good News Church in 1997 and the staff in 2011. Thankfully, he has great sense of humor.

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Office Administrative Assistant
Brooke grew up just outside Akron, Ohio (home of LeBron James) in the farm town Suffield. She and her husband Adam moved to St. Augustine in February 2001. They have three daughters Bailey, 11 Brooklynn, 8 and Camryn, 6. Brooke is very involved in the community as a Girl Scout leader and S.A.F.E. pet rescue volunteer. Brook and Adam came to Good News in 2009 and joined in 2010, they are members of the "Super Small" small group.

Smiley married way out of his league; he and Karen have been married for over 33 years. They have been blessed with six wonderful children, plus three more through marriage. Smiley planted Good News in 1991, after planting and pastoring West Boca Presbyterian for 11 years. Good News has been an opportunity for him plant and pastor a church where he grew up, graduating from both high school and college locally.

PRIMARY FUNCTION: To oversee the Community Ministry, and provide pastoral care to members of Good News – Wildwood.
Dave envisions the day when God’s people at Good News Church are connected together in a multiplying network of small groups bringing life change through the power of the gospel. He believes the only way to see that happen is to multiply leaders who are passionate, equipped, and encouraged in our calling to community. He and his wife Sue Ellen have two children- Madolyn and David, Jr. They lived in Charlotte, NC and West Palm Beach, FL before joining the staff of Good News in the fall of 2006.

PRIMARY FUNCTION: To lead our congregation in Worship
Ed is a St. Augustine local who has been in full-time Christian service since 1995. He served as youth pastor at two other local churches and now serves as our Worship Director. Ed and Dottie are the parents of two: Sarah and Brian. Ed and Dottie consider serving Good News a family commitment. Ed combines his artistic and musical abilities with a deep level of scriptural knowledge.

PRIMARY FUNCTION: To lead the student ministry and to reach all of the students in St John’s county.
Strider was born and raised in North Carolina and he calls Pinehurst his hometown. Strider met Christ through Young Life as a senior in high school at camp Windy Gap.
He went to college at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and majored in Journalism with a focus on Advertising. Strider was a volunteer Young Life leader for three years and started on staff at Young Life during his senior year of college before becoming the Area Director for Ponte Vedra in 2006, and then Area Director for St. Augustine in 2010.
Strider met his wife, Shannon, during their junior year and got married after graduating in 2004. They have three boys (Asher, Mac, and Kenan) and have been members of Good News at the Wildwood campus since 2010. Strider enjoys playing basketball, watching sports on TV, and reading.

PRIMARY FUNCTION: To help lead the student ministry to reach all of the students in St. Johns county.
Yannie graduated from Flagler College with her degree in Religion/Philosophy and minored in Youth Ministry. She joined Good News Church during her sophomore year at Flagler. Yannie and her husband Zach met as students in the college ministry and were married in 2013. Since joining, she has served as a gospel partner in the Youth and College Ministry here at Good News. Yannie's roll is to work hand-in-hand with the Student Pastor to develop and implement a student ministry that is passionately committed to reaching and transforming as many students in this county as possible.

PRIMARY FUNCTION: To oversee the Children’s Ministry at the Wildwood Campus
Toni is a graduate of the University of North Florida. Most recently, she has taught at Turning Point Christian Academy. She also worked on the staff of St. Johns River Community College. She is married to Ricky, and they have two children: Kevin & Kalyn. Here at Good News Church, Rick & Toni have been shepherds of the Cypress Roots small group, and Toni has served as a gospel partner in the children's ministry as well as the Global Outreach team.
PRIMARY FUNCTION:To provide leadership for Good News Church- World Golf Village.
Andy finds his identity in the saving grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. He is married to his hilarious and beautiful best friend, Kristy. They have a daughter, Lilyana, and two sons: Luke and Levi. Andy finds the most joy in seeing the Holy Spirit reach and transform people. He is a die-hard Red Sox, Patriots and Celtics fan and he could eat Mexican food for every meal.

Small Group Director
PRIMARY FUNCTION: To lead the small group ministry and connect everyone to gospel partnership.
Mitch was born and raised in Illinois and went to college at Southern Illinois University majoring in Advertising. After college, he moved to Baltimore to follow a girl he wanted to be closer to. She went to church, so wanting to spend more time with her, he also went to church. That is where he met Christ, and 3 years later he and her (Jenn) were married in 1998. They have 4 children Cameron, Michael, Kaylan and Ava, and have been members of Good News since they moved to St. Augustine in 2005. Mitch and Jenn have served in many areas of the church and today the entire family serves in some capacity.

PRIMARY FUNCTION: To lead our congregation in Worship at the World Golf Village Campus.
Ella has been serving Jesus through worship ever since the second grade when her Children's Music Director introduced her to singing. She participated in the church praise team and lead the youth praise band. After graduating from Flagler she married her high school sweet heart, Chase. Ella taught music at a christian academy and, soon after, God opened the door for her to lead His people in worship at Good News Church.

PRIMARY FUNCTION: To oversee the Youth Ministry at the World Golf Village Campus
Dylan is a graduate of Flagler College. He attended Good News as a youth, participated in the college ministry while a student at Flagler College. He is a alumni of the Youth With a Mission Discipleship Training School. Dylan has been involved on the worship team at World Golf Village. He is an avid surfer, videographer, and musician.

Samantha graduated from Flagler College in 2005 with a degree in Elementary Education. She married her husband Matt in 2008 and together have a blended family with four awesome children: Michaela, Avery, Channing, and Cape. Samantha joined Good News Church in 2006, was a part of the original launch team at World Golf Village, and has been serving in the Children’s Ministry for the last 6 years. Matt and Samantha also lead a small group.
